Returning To Malifaux: Building a Leveticus Crew

Leveticus

Leveticus was once a brilliant scientist who lived in the world of Malifaux. He was renowned for his intellect and his ability to create wondrous machines and devices that harnessed the power of the arcane.

However, as time went on, Leveticus grew more and more obsessed with unlocking the secrets of life and death. He began experimenting with forbidden magic and technology, seeking to achieve immortality and unlock the mysteries of the afterlife.

As his work progressed, Leveticus became increasingly unstable, consumed by his thirst for knowledge and power. He was eventually consumed by his own creations, transforming into a powerful undead being that was equal parts machine and magic.

Leveticus now roams the world of Malifaux, a master of both technology and the arcane. He commands an army of undead creations, using them to further his own interests and feed his insatiable hunger for knowledge.

Despite his power, Leveticus is not without his enemies. The other factions of Malifaux view him as a madman, a dangerous threat that must be stopped at all costs. But Leveticus is not one to be underestimated – he is cunning, resourceful, and always several steps ahead of his opponents.

As Leveticus continues to wander the world of Malifaux, he remains a figure of fear and fascination to those who cross his path. Some see him as a monster, a being to be destroyed at all costs. But others believe that he holds the key to unlocking the greatest mysteries of the world, and they are willing to risk everything to learn from him.

No matter what his true nature may be, one thing is certain – Leveticus is a force to be reckoned with in the world of Malifaux. His knowledge and power make him a force to be feared and respected, and those who cross him do so at their own peril.

The Crew

I played my first game of Malifaux in several years last week, and it’s cool to be venturing back in. The thing is, with the changes to boxes, and with my own collection of M2E models being scattered and a bit random, I feel like I am largely starting over from scratch. I’m looking at a Leveticus gang. I also considered Jack Daw, the Viktorias, Parker… really any of the Outcasts. They’re my faves.

I planned to grab three initial boxes. Namely, these were the Leveticus Core Box, Marlena Webster, and Desolation. In the end, I managed to find my M2E Desolation Engine and Abominations, so I didn’t need to grab Desolation.

They arrived yesterday and I spent a wee bit of time putting the models together. My favourite is probably Marlena, but the Scavengers are also really cool:

You can see my old pal, Cojo, in the back. Hi, Cojo! I’m looking to get to these minis soon. The thing is, I always say that and it’s usually a lie. I’ll get to them at some point. Maybe. Hopefully.

I’m keen for more games, and it’s a lot clearer to differentiate models when they’re painted, so that’s some motivation to prioritise these minis!
