Aberrants are a terrifying and grotesque form of mutated warriors within the Genestealer Cults. Born from the insidious influence of the Genestealer’s alien genes, Aberrants represent a horrifying amalgamation of human and Tyranid DNA, twisted and warped into monstrous forms.
Physically imposing and unnaturally strong, Aberrants tower over regular humans, their bodies grotesquely mutated and enhanced. They possess multiple limbs, bony protrusions, and heavily muscled frames that make them formidable adversaries in close combat. Their flesh is covered in toughened scales or chitinous plates, providing a measure of protection against harm.
Aberrants wield a variety of crude but devastating weapons, ranging from massive hammers and improvised melee weapons to heavy power picks and enormous cleavers. Their combat prowess is fearsome, fueled by a feral ferocity and an instinctual drive to tear apart their enemies. Their mutated bodies also grant them enhanced regenerative abilities, allowing them to shrug off wounds that would incapacitate or kill a regular human.
These abominable creatures serve as shock troops and champions of the Genestealer Cults, acting as living weapons to defend their insidious masters. They charge into battle with reckless abandon, unleashing brutal carnage upon their foes. The presence of Aberrants on the battlefield strikes terror into the hearts of their enemies, for they are a grim reminder of the Genestealer Cults’ relentless advance and the twisted corruption that permeates the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

The Aberrant miniatures went together really well. They were an easy, enjoyable build that didn’t have the ridiculous number of options in other GSC kits. Seriously, some of the GSC kits are fantastic examples of the sort of bloat that is endemic to 40K. But yeah; thankfully these models were free from that baggage.
In terms of painting, they were okay, too. They don’t wear a lot of armour, so the colour scheme, as tested on my Iconward, isn’t all that prevalent, but you can see they do resemble my Patriarch:

I don’t know that they turned out exactly how I’d have liked, but they are consistent with other models. I’ve got more of these chaps to do in the future, but since my immediate goal is to complete the Combat Patrol boxed set they can wait.
Next up, I’m looking at the first 5 Acolytes, as well as a couple of characters. After that, we’ll move onto the Neophytes.
