Story: Gharug Thunderclad

Following some discussion of Bonesplitterz in the Plastic Craic Discord server, I got to thinking about this wonderful, undersupported army. I do worry that the army is going to disappear in the coming years. I’d actually like to grab some, but I know that if they are going to go, I’m unlikely to have a finished army before they do.

Anyway, here’s 400 words on a Savage Orruk Big Boss…

Gharug Thunderclad

The sky overhead darkened as ominous clouds gathered, heralding a brewing tempest. Gharug Thunderclad stood atop a rugged hill, his massive form silhouetted against the roiling heavens. With Skullcracker in hand, he gazed down at the horde of brutish Chaos Marauders that filled the valley below.

The Marauders, sensing the impending fury of the storm, had foolishly ventured into the Ghyran Wilds, seeking to plunder its ancient secrets. Little did they know that they had trespassed into Icebone territory, and Gharug was not one to forgive such intrusions lightly.

With a primal roar that shook the very trees, Gharug charged downhill like an unstoppable avalanche upon his loyal boar companion, Thunderhoof. Together, they shook the ground with each pounding step. The Marauders watched in stunned disbelief as the savage Orruk Warboss closed the distance with terrifying speed.

As Gharug reached the chaotic horde, he swung Skullcracker in a sweeping arc, sending Marauders flying in all directions. Bones shattered, and bodies tumbled like ragdolls. Thunderhoof, with a bellow of his own, gored marauder after marauder as they fled in the wake of his porcine rage.

The Chaos Champion, a hulking brute of a warrior, stepped forward to challenge Gharug. With a grin that revealed jagged, filed teeth, Gharug accepted the challenge. The two titans clashed, their weapons meeting with a deafening crash that echoed through the valley.

The storm above erupted in fury, and lightning bolts forked across the sky, each strike punctuating Gharug’s blows. The Warboss fought with a primal rage, his every strike a testament to the raw power coursing through his veins. With a thunderous overhead swing, Skullcracker crushed the Chaos Champion’s helmet, sending him sprawling to the ground in a daze.

The Marauders, witnessing the fall of their leader, wavered for a moment. It was all the time Gharug needed. With a final, earth-shaking stomp, he sent shockwaves rippling through the ground, causing the Chaos horde to scatter in disarray.

The battle was over. Gharug Thunderclad stood victorious, a living tempest of primal might. He let out another triumphant roar; the storm above answering with a blinding bolt of lightning that struck a nearby hill, setting it ablaze. Gork was pleased… or was Mork enraged? It was difficult to tell.

As the flames danced in the rain, Gharug and Thunderhoof turned to leave the battlefield, their savage reputation further cemented in the annals of the Mortal Realms.
