My Parents Tried Painting Some Minis

Over the past month, I’ve had some wee painting sessions with my parents. This was fun, and it’s surprising that we hadnt done it before in the (approx) quarter of a century that I’ve been into the hobby.

First, when I was south to visit my parents and working on my Gargants and Kruleshots, my dad sat down and joined me. I had a little Dwarf Bard sitting primed, so I gave it to him to paint:

He struggled to really see the details, but it was nice to sit together and get the craic whilst painting.

Last week, as I started work on some Malifaux miniatures and a D&D character (all as yet unfinished), my mum (who was up for a visit at the time) decided to give it a go, and I broke put some Halloween-themed minis. We started with this chap:

Not bad, right? I like the basing and the alternating colours on the pumpkin.

She then had a go at this witch:

She had a slight mishap on the face that actually ended up making it look better. I’m delighted for her at how this turned out, and she was pretty proud of what she managed to do.

All in all, these were lovely painting sessions that saw us pick away at some minis whilst having a chat and some suitably strong coffee. Good times!
