Completed: Nagash/Merlin

Nagash is an iconic character in Warhammer, whether that’s in Age of Sigmar or in the World That Was. I’m actually reading the Nagash End Times book at the moment. Well, I’ve paused to read another Scalzi book, but I’ll return to it soon.

For my deluded Flesh-Eater Courts army, I decided to turn Nagash into a Merlin-like figure. The art at the top of this post shows what he normally looks like, but I reckoned that my little courtiers would see him as the wise and benevolent wizard that we all know him to truly be! For this, I took the Merlin figure from Heroes Infinite and scales it up to fill my printer’s build plate. It’s not quite as big as the official Nagash figure, but it does fit appropriately on a 130mm base. I’ll go with it.

Here’s the completed model:

I went with the same skintone as I gave my ghouls. Sadly, someone ccidently smashed my Krondspine mini, so I ended up reusing the base that he had been on. This led to a nice built-up area around a central gap. I built this up further with Vallejo textures to create a little pond. This was mostly just to break up the base and make it a bit more interesting than it would otherwise have been.

I’m not sure that I’d use Nagash with the army all that much, but it’s a lot of fun to put this together and have him as an option.

As a little bonus, this was also the last square I needed in my first Woehammer Bingo card for the year!

Let’s see if we can crack out a second card, eh?
