There’s a big overlap between people who are interested in wargames, whether miniatures-based or presented as board games, and those with an interest in military history and strategy. That leads me into a recommendation for today.

Sarah C. Paine, also known as Sally, is an historian, author, and professor of strategy and policy at the U.S. Naval War College. She is a fantastic speaker and is incredibly knowledgeable and reflective in her areas of expertise. I’ve long enjoyed her talks and lectures.
Recently, YouTuber Dwarkesh Patel hosted a trio of lectures with Paine, each followed by a fantastic Q&A. The first of these episodes was on the factors that shaped the current geopolitical climate of south Asia:
The second episode focuses on Japanese imperialism and the different factors that shaped their chaotic approach to the second world war:
The third lecture is all about The Chairman! She looks at the man who went from winning a hard-fought victory in a civil war to completely destroying his own country in peacetime:
These are most definitely worth a watch. I really enjoyed them.
