Kickstarter-Watch: Cyberpunk Night Market

I’m on something of a cyberpunk kick. I’m about to re-read Neuromancer, which I’ve read before but I fancied having a little refresh before moving on to the sequels, Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive, which I have not previously read. I’ve also been looking at Cyberpunk-based gaming, with a wee bit of 3D printing, and some curiosity about Osprey’s Reality’s Edge skirmish game and the Cyberpunk Red RPG by R. Talsorian Games. Had my first go at that this week, actually:

I suppose that this is why a Kickstarter campaign offering low-cost cyberpunk building STLs caught my attention. Makes sense, eh?

Naw, stop! You dinnae hae to answer. It’s one of them rhetorical questions, pal.

The ‘low-cost’ part of the above statement should really be highlighted. There are only two tiers to this Kickstarter, at €1 for buildings and €6 (or €5 with the early bird option) for buildings plus other accessories, such as stalls, a street tile, and stretch goals.

The buildings are relatively basic, essentially being facades. But that’s all we really need to build out our boards and create cool, dramatic, atmospheric scenes.

Beyond the buildings that line the street, there are also a number of market stalls to add some much-needed street terrain and texture. These seem quite basic, but that’s fine. They are appropriate and will look great once they’re printed out and painted up:

There’s not a huge amount to say about this campaign. At the cost of a few euros, you’re getting some basic terrain with some nice, Cyberpunk theming. At that price, it’s really worth a punt, especially with the promise of stretch goals and pretty swift delivery after the campaign ends.

Interestingly, this is also a really good deal if you’re looking to act as a merchant for these models. A lifetime license will cost you €12 (€10 with early bird option), meaning that this is not really much of a risk for the would-be investor. Worth a punt?
