Our local gaming club, the Northern Knights, holds semi-regular painting contests. The main one we do in the year is timed to coincide with the local model show. Now, this show isn’t about miniature wargames or the like, but we tend to get a stall at it for a couple of reasons. First, it supports a group in our local community. Second, we hope to find a wee bit of overlap and maybe drum up some interest/awareness and perhaps even find some new members. The painting contest is, therefore, a big part of our booth.

What brings this post to mind is that on Monday, I put the post out to club members for this years event. Yup, it’s that time of year again. We got a load of really cool entries last time, so I’m keen to see if we can get as many again!

I always enjoy seeing the creativity and talent of our members on display. Most of our contests are internal, and are voted for by members, so it’s great to have an event like this where we cast our net a bit and get input from outsiders. It’s nice to share people’s work that bit wider, y’know?
