This is definitely a throwback, as I don’t really post ‘rants’ any more. At least, I don’t identify what I post as a rant. I don’t find that setting out to post rants is rarely helpful or positive. That said, I don’t think I’m wrong in what I say here.
I just might go about it differently today, y’know?

This is a post contrasting the often-toxic interactions that we experience in a video game with open voice chat, as opposed to around a table. Of course, since most of us choose our gaming group, we do have a curated experience in that regard.
Since then I have attended more events and what I say does hold up. At events, playing against strangers, I’ve still had a far more positive experience than online. It’s the anonymity and the physical disconnect, I suppose.
