Vampire: The Masquerade was my first RPG. It’s where I started out and it’s still one of my favourite games. I love it, therefore, when I see these bundles comes along. They represent such good opportunities for new players to dive in and learn to love the game as much as I do.
Now, this is a Humble Bundle and it is therefore constructed in a terrible and idiotic way. The lowest level of a bundle should allow players to actually play the game. Here, however, the rulebook is not available until the second-highest tier; the third of 4. The lowest tier has ‘bonus content’ for a game you don’t even have yet. I have a real resentment of whoever puts these bundles together. They’re just consistently awful in this way, even if the final bundle is still a good deal.

For the purposes of this overview, we are therefore not going to bother looking at the lower tiers. We’re going to jump right into that second-highest tier. We’ll come back to the top tier later, as it’s a bit different. This second-highest tier costs £14.67 and gets you 20 items:

This is a pretty comprehensive bundle. You’ve got the core book, which is really fantastic and utterly crucial to actually playing the game. It’s got all of the core rules, along with most of the character creation stuff, rundowns of several of the clans, and so on. The Camarilla, Anarch, and Sabbat supplements further add to these options and flesh out more of the clans and factions in the game.
Some additional highlights from this bundle include the fantastic campaign in the latest edition of Chicago by Night, the magic-based gameplay options of Cults of the Blood Gods, and the threats and intrigue of The Second Inquisition. This last title is one that I’m keen to pick up to add to my own collection. I also really like London by Night and the Chicago Folios.
Simply put, this bundle has pretty much the entire range of books for this latest edition of Vampire: the Masquerade. It also has the core book for a second World of Darkness game in the form of Hunter: the Reckoning. This game hasn’t reviewed as well as Vampire, but I’m delighted that these other World of Darkness games are still being developed.
Now, this has all been about the second-highest tier. That tier represents some pretty fantastic value for money. it’s a good deal, and one one I heartily recommend. Go buy it. Go!
What about the top tier, though? Well, that’s interesting. Unusually for a Humble Bundle, this tiers contains physical items. Specifically, this tier includes the card game, Rivals, and a bunch of stuff to go with it.

Rivals is seemingly a good game and the bundle cost of £32.60 includes it and all of the content from the previous tiers. This is even better value for money, but is not available in the UK or Europe. They will only ship this stuff to the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Boo! If you live in one of those places, you should jump on this. If you don’t, then just stick to the second-highest tier.
