Completed: Leveticus Crew

Malifaux is seeing something of a resurgence locally, with a couple of other players picking it up. That’s a lot for up here!

I’ve really liked Malifaux since the start of second edition (and quite liked it before this), so it’s cool to reconnect with it in third edition. I have a fair few models, but the slate they’re in and whatnot, it’s kind of been easier just to start over with M3E, so this is what I’ve done, picking up a couple of crews.

The first of these was Leveticus. I picked up his core box and the Marlena Webster miniature. I already had the Abominations and Desolation Engine. I think I’m only really short of Ashes and Dust to really round out this crew. I’ll grab it at some point.

The models were fine to paint, and the first set I finished was the four Abominations and the accompanying Desolation Engine:

Odd, wee models, these. I went with a grey skintine and lots of brass. I wanted these to stand apart from the “normal” minions that came in the core box.

The Leveticus core box isn’t too outlandish by Malifaux standards, at least visually:

I had some fun with these guys. I liked trying to paint the white coat and shirts. I think they turned out about as well as I could have hoped for. Again, I went with a different skintine for the hollow waifs to set them apart from the other minionsm I could probably have done more to set the Henchman, Rusty Alyce, apart from the Scavengers, but hey ho.

The last model I finished was my favourite one, Marlena Webster:

What a great mini! It’s rare that I express much admiration for my own work, but I’m actually really happy with how she turned out.

Next up, I’ll be moving on to do a Jack Daw Gang. I built them a while back so I’ll get them primed this week and set to it!
