In this week’s WiP Wednesday, let’s take a look at the next set of miniatures I’m keen to do for Malifaux. The next keyword I am exploring for Malifaux is a relatively recent one that was added to the game last year. This is ‘Bygone’, the keyword associated with the master, Tiri. A few months ago, I built my Tiri crew and it’s sitting in the painting queue, awaiting my attention. I would like to get to it reasonably soon, as I’m still really enthusiastic about Malifaux.
I actually grabbed three boxes of this keyword to have some options in building lists. They are my first Explorer’s Society models, but they have crossover with the Outcasts, who are my forever-faction. I love how keyword crossover works in this game. It’s dangerous, though; it gives you an excuse to spend more. Hah! As if I need an excuse!

The keyword really appeals to me, largely because it plays quite differently to the Leveticus and Jack Daw lists that I have previously painted up. The focus on shields and whatnot is really interesting. I will need to make some tech markers to go with them, too!

These won’t be done any time all that soon. I really need to catch up with the Slow Grow stuff that’s now months behind thanks for some flareups. That said, I’d like to do a pair of keywords, and this will be the first one. For the other, I’m thinking I might want to do Obliteration or Mercenary for Tara or the Viktorias, respectively.
