I’ve played a fair amount of first and second edition WFRP. I wish I still had my first edition book from Hogshead. I think I left it with a former clubmate a few moves ago. 15 years on, I’m not convinced that I’m getting that book back. Oh, well…
4th editon!
Seemingly, this edition is a return to form after an iffy third edition from Fantasy Flight. I wouldn’t really know; I never played it. I’ve heard nothing but good about this edition, though.
And, hey, here’s a good chance to grab it! For £19.69, you get all 18 of these items, plus a voucher for the Cubicle 7 online store:

Let’s start by saying that this is a well-constructed bundle. At the first tier, you get the starter set. At the second, you get the core rulebook. Then you can further upgrade to get everything. This is the sort of sensible, useful progression that Humble Bundle has just not been good at for quite some time. It’s great to see them actually engage with sensible tiering.
As I have not played this edition, I’m not able to really speak from experience here, but I’ve picked out a few highlights. To get us started, the Core Rulebook or Starter Set would be classed as compulsory. This has everything you actually need to play the game. The supplements and whatnot are great, but you need one of these.
I’m also very interested in Middenheim: City of the White Wolf. This is a sourcebook for the supposedly-impregnable fortress city of Ulric. Middenheim is an iconic city in the Old World, and home to the lkegendary Knights of the White Wolf. These were very recognisable in the old Empire army as being the knights that carried cavalry hammers rather than lances. A nice reminder that not everything in the Empire revolves around Reikland.
The main attraction here, beyond the core book, is the Enemy Within campaign. This is a truly epic campaign that spans volumes, plus companion books, which are also included in this bundle. The sheer amount of content here, and the scope of the campaign, is pretty staggering. I love that players can really have an impact on the world as they progress through this revised edition of the classic WFRP campaign.
This bundle is really all about the Enemy Within campaign. The full bundle is aimed squarely at a GM who wants to take a group through this epic story. And that’s fine. It does mean that someone coming in as a player might not need everything here. I’d probably advise a player to go for the £11.81 pricepoint, because that includes the core rulebook and a bunch of other fun content. Leave the bulk of the campaign materials to the GM.
I’m solidly recommending this one, though with that caveat of picking the tier appropriate to your role.
