Woehammer Releases Conquest, a Narrative Campaign System for The Old World

The Woehammer blog (a fantastic and fairly frequent fixture of 5 on Friday) has released a nice supplement for The old World. Namely, it’s their narrative campaign system, Conquest. It’s based pretty squarely (like… like the bases, geddit?) on Age of Sigmar’s Path to Glory system.

The post that Peter has put together outlining the system is fantastic. It’s detailed, thorough, interesting, well-structured. It just feel really thought-through and solid. He makes it clear that this is a living document that is subject to review and change, but what’s here is fully usable. Rather handily, if there are changes, he is also maintaining a change log (Tzeentch’s firewood of choice?) so that you know what’s been updated.

The system follows a similar structure to Path to Glory and is very clearly and professionally presented. The structured, hyperlinked table of contents makes this a breeze to navigate and anyone familiar with Path to Glory will be instantly familiar with how this works.

I’m really impressed with this. Woehammer is great at stuff like stats and looking at the competitive side of AoS (I love the Top 3 list posts!), but I really love it when they step outside of that, whether it be for hobby, humour or, as here, homebrew.

I don’t think we’ll have the interest in the game here to sustain a campaign, but if ever we do, I’m gonna be all over this!

  1. Thanks for promoting it! I’m having a game using the rules on Wednesday. I’m looking forward to it.
