Completed: 20 Halberdiers

Following on from completing the wizard, I also completed a nice, big block of halberdiers. I followed the colour scheme established by Heinrich and it was actually really fun to paint. I had an absolute blast painting these chaps.

Unusually, I’m also actually really happy with how they turned out:

Some of the prints could have used a big more cleaning up, but overall I am delighted. With this part of the slow grow, I’ve also got a bit of background to go with them:

Heinrich’s Halberdiers

Heinrich Volkmarsson’s Halberdiers, bedecked in the resplendent colors of the Empire – a uniform blending sea green and white – formed a steadfast bulwark against the encroaching darkness. Their mastery of close combat was unmatched, their halberds wielded with precision and lethal efficiency. From repelling the relentless onslaught of marauding greenskins to spearheading assaults against the hordes of Chaos, these warriors stood as the epitome of disciplined might under Heinrich’s unwavering leadership.

What truly set Heinrich’s Halberdiers apart, however, was their unshakable devotion to Sigmar and the Empire’s cause. Each soldier bore upon their weapon the sacred symbol of the breaking sun, a constant reminder of their sacred duty to defend humanity from the forces of darkness. Inspired by Heinrich’s fervent faith and unyielding resolve, these soldiers fought with a zeal that instilled fear in their enemies and rallied the spirits of their comrades.

In battle, the Halberdiers formed an indomitable phalanx, their disciplined formations holding firm against the most ferocious assaults. Whether standing against the relentless charge of chaos-spawned monstrosities or repelling the dread legions of Chaos, Heinrich’s Halberdiers proved time and again their mettle and their commitment to the Empire’s defense. Their courage, loyalty, and unwavering resolve were the bedrock upon which the fate of the Old World rested, ensuring that the light of civilisation would endure against the encroaching darkness.
