Planning for Month 2 of Woehammer’s Slow Grow Challenge

February saw me sign up for Woehammer’s Slow Grow challenge and get the easy stuff out of the way. Oh, sure, it’s easy to say that I’ll do two armies when all I’m having to do is a pair of characters. I duly finished my Warrior Priest and my Propher-Sorcerer:

Easy!

What’s next?

Oh, two core units…

Okay, well, that’s a lot more work. For me, it’s going to be a couple of nice, big blocks. 20 Infernal Guard for the Chaos Dwarfs and 20 State Troops for the Empire. For both, I intend to use Titan Forge Miniatures:

Before I started these, I was a lot more excited for the Chaos Dwarfs. As I get into it more, I find that the Empire army also has me very excited! Way more than I’d expected. There’s a lot of work to be done. I’m currently completing cleanup on the Infernal Guard prints, and then I’ll get them built and primed. The cleanup can then start on the Halberdiers.

Yes, that means I have printed up 40 miniatures to be added to the running total, but I at least hope to strike them straight back off my list. We’ll see!

These 40 models will be my priority for the coming months, along with another 20 Plague Monks and a suitable single miniature for this month’s club painting contest. I have an idea for that one!

Casting my eye forward, next month will likely see me do some light cavalry for the Empire and some ranged fighters for the Chaos Dwarfs.
