This is an interestingly-timed bundle. If I were to guess, I’d say that this is a last clutch at making some money on the old Discworld RPG by its publisher, Steve Jackson Games. I say last clutch because a new Discworld RPG has been announced by Modiphius:
I imagine that will be yet another 2D20 reskin…
If you prefer GURPS for some reason, then you can still grab the game at a reasonable-ish price from this bundle. It does mean giving money to Steve Jackson Games, which is something I often try to avoid, but if you want to chuck them $14.95, then you’ll get the following:
The game is pretty solid. It’s GURPS, so you know what you’re getting if you’re at all familiar with that game. The book, which I own, is also really nice. It’s full of cool bits of background and whatnot.
I was a bit disappointed that this bundle did not include the fantastic supplement, Discworld Also. It was a really good book and, I believe, was the only commercial supplement released for the game. However, when I went to take another look at the book, it turns out that the content of the book was actually incorporated into the second edition of the Discworld RPG, which is the book you’re getting here. The value is therefore a bit better than I had expected.
The other supplements in here? I dunno. The appeal of this bundle is that you’re getting the Discworld RPG for half the price you would at DTRPG. If that appeals to you, grab it. I’m getting to this bundle late, so if you’re interested, there’s not much time left to get it.
