Printing Stuff Up: Artillery, Zealots, Royalty, and Star Gods

I’ve not been using my 3D printer all that much of late, but this week has seen something of a resurgence. I’ve got a few things on the go. Most is for the slow grow, but not all of it.

First up, I did a Deathshrieker Rocket for my Chaos Dwarfs. Now, as part of this, I printed off an Ogre Loader for the unit. This artillery piece can’t have an Ogre Loader, but I don’t honestly care. I’m going with rule of cool, as we all should!

This will be my July unit for the slow grow. More on that next week.

On the topic of slow grow, here are 10 Flagellants! These are for the Empire army and are on the printer right now, so I don’t have a picture of the finished print. I’d like to expand this later to a unit of 20. Here’s a render of the miniatures:

Anoyingly, whilst the artillery piece brings my Chaos Dwarfs to 1,000 points, that’s not the case for my Empire. I’d need to find something I can chuck in to bring the points up a little.

Not everything is about the slow grow, though. Following on from my Merlin-as-Nagash miniature from a couple of months ago, here’s what I’ve printed up for Ushoran; a scaled-up King Arthur:

He turned out well, didn’t he? Some cleanup has been done since that photo, and he’s been cured. I’m working on the base at the moment.

Finally, moving away from fantasy altogether, I printed a miniature from Bestarium to use as a proxy for a C’tan Shard. I covered this model in part 3 of my series on alternative C’Tan minis. He turned out alright, actually:

This will be my fourth C’tan in my journey to fielding a stupid 6 C’Tan memelist. Wish me luck on that absolute monstrosity. I think this print will be a bit of a pain to remove from supports and clean up. We’ll have to wait and see, I suppose.
