Completed: Transcendent C’tan Shard

I started the year on something of a C’tan kick. First came a Deceiver proxy, then my Void Dragon. I’m actually still totally delighted with my Void Dragon. He’s my big, beautiful boy!

Now, in my slow-but-steady march towards a 6 C’tan list, I’ve printed and painted the first of my Transcendent C’tan shards. This is a print from Bestiarum which featured in one of my alt-C’tan posts.  It took a little bit of conversion work, trimming down the tendrils and adding some extra spikes just so it fit that bit better on the 60mm base.

I also applied some texture pastes and paints, somewhat conservatively.  I’m particularly happy with how the crackle texture on one side of the chest piece turned out.  It looks pretty natural, y’know?

I’m not sure what to use for my next C’Tan.  Part of me wants to try a Lady Olynder conversion, but she looks mighty fiddly.  There are some possible prints I could do, too.

I’m in no rush with this project; there’s plenty of time to work it out.
