It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games, books, and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Games Workshop releases Vizzik Skour for Age of Sigmar’s Skaven army – I really like the Verminlords, and had a lot of fun painting mine. I absolutely love this newest Verminlord, Vizzik Skour:

Released as part of the recent Skaven range refresh, this is a fantastic mini. It’s got more of a solid, heavy presence than the other Verminlords. The robes are great, the horns are majestic, and he’s just amazing.

Arc Dream Publishing releases God’s Breath, a new scenario for Delta Green – Arc Dream continues to put out fantastic Delta Green supplements. This latest offering a new scenario:

It’s not a huge supplement, weighing in at only 60 pages, but it sounds fun. The scenario is pretty topical, being based around the legalisation of marijuana in Colorado. As this is Delta Green, there’s always more going on than one might expect…

Wizards of the Coast to release Foundations set for Magic: The Gathering – A few years back, I remember Wizards of the Coast putting out deckbuilder toolkits to go along with annual releases. I have the 2014 and 2015 ones sitting on a shelf somewhere behind me just now. It seems that the new Foundations set is the latest equivalent to these old boxes:

This set will be one that will stay in print for a few years. It’s good to have a bit of stability, and hope that the set will have a good selection of real staple cards. This seems firmly aimed at standard play, which I am told needs a bit of revitalisation. My focus is more on Commander, so we’ll see how useful this will be once I’ve had a look at the contents. It’s a wee while away from release yet, though!

TTCombat taking preorders on Resistance ships for Dropfleet Commander – You know, I’m not sure the Dropfleet Commander is for me, but I do love how it looks. These ships are gorgeous:

All of the Dropfleet ships look good, but I do like the ragtag feel of the Resistance. I like their aesthetic in Dropzone Commander, too. There’s something that just appeals to me about the lack of clean lines, or smooth surfaces. Fantastic minis, and cheaper than I expected!

The Army Painter releases Fanatic Wargamers Paint Set – The Fanatic line of paints has seemingly been a big success for The Army Painter. I went off the company a bit when they misrepresented the first iteration of their Speedpaint line, and sold “SPEED”paints that required layers of varnish to be applied between each layer in order to avoid reactivation. However, I really respect how they went on to handle it, reformulating and re-releasing the line. Now, I use Speedpaint metallics almost exclusively. They’re fab; it’s been a real turnaround. The Fanatic line doesn’t seem to have experienced any such issues and has been well-received by the community. Here’s the latest big set:

There’s a hefty price tag attached to the set, but you’re getting a lot of paint and some really beautiful colours. You also get a brush and a miniature. The mini you get is actually fantastic. It’s one of the Dungeons & Lasers dragons, and I can attest to how well it went together, having built it last month.

Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
One Sheet Battlepack @ Overthinking Warcry – I love it when fans put out cool, little resources for their favourite games. This compact and concise battlepack from overthinking Warcry is a great format, and one that I could well see the site continuing the future as a great way to put out fun Wacry content. Give it a look; give it a spin!
Painted C-3PO and R2-D2 @ The Bovine Overlord – Iconic! C-3PO and R2-D2 are looking great as they arrive on the tabletop for games of Shatterpoint. They’re beautifully painted here, and ready to rep for the Rebel Alliance!
Simple Paint Schemes: Deathrattle Skeletons @ Woehammer – I like it when people share their paint schemes. It’s great to see what folks get up to in their hobby time, but it’s even better when they also share how they do what they do. This is a well-presented format with some great models to show for it.
Roswell ’98: Gas Station Terrain @ Wyrd Stones and Tackle Zones – Astounding. I keep saying that I love all of this blog’s Roswell ’98 posts and miniatures, but these terrain pieces might be my favourites. That gas station is just excellent.
Commander decklist: Oddities @ Scent of a Gamer – Obosh looks fun! I like commanders like this, where you really build the deck around their individual quirks. I’m a while away from having the sort of collection I’d need to really start building cool decks for myself, but posts like this keep showing me interesting cards and interactions; I’m learning so much.

There have been a few posts since my last 5 on Friday:
- The new Pack Rush format for Disney Lorcana
- A Transformers-themed Humble Bundle
- A coinflip-themed Magic Monday
- An Astartes-themed Humble Bundle
- RPGs and Jesus Christ Superstar?
- Another mixed bag of a Throwback Thursday
Nothing painted, nothing bought, but I did print one mini this week for my Necrons. I finally found my sixth C’tan! I’ll hopefully be able to get it painted up reasonably soon.
Painting, purchasing, and printing totals so far this year:
- Purchased: 121 minis
- Printed: 116 minis
- Painted: 277 minis

Thanks Tav!

Thanks for the link once more. I’m glad you’re enjoying the Commander deck series. Full disclosure – I do have the Death Toll deck from Duskmourn on pre-order and I’ll be sure to cover the experience of playing it right out of the box.
