Although based on Evil Hat’s Fate system, Fate of Cthulhu has a standalone rulebook that is your gateway to a world where you, a soldier from the future, must prevent the rise of the Great Old Ones. The game introduces new rules for corruption, time travel, and Great Old One technology, adding a fresh twist to the Fate Core system. Evil Hat remains one of my favourite RPG publishers, and I like my copy of Fate of Cthulhu; even if it is unplayed. I think our group’s horror game of choice is still Call of Cthulhu, and that’s ok. This bundle still represents great value. The core book is excellent, and you’ve got a whole bunch of timelines for your time-travelling mythos-busters to explore.
