StoryBundle: Trilogies 2024

The rule of threes is such a powerful thing. As humans we look for patterns and threes seem to hold a particularly strong appeal. This also applies to entertainment with franchises like Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, The Godfather, and more all employing the three-film structure, even if they later move beyond it.

The latest offering from StoryBundle consists of a range of different sci-fi trilogies. If this all sounds very familiar, then you might have read our coverage of StoryBundle’s 2023 Trilogies bundle. Today, let’s take a look at what’s on offer for the 2024 bundle.

The first tier of this bundle, as shown in the top row of the image below, will set you back just $5 and get you the following items:

  • The Lost Level 2: Return to the Lost Level by Brian Keene
  • The Lost Level 1: The Lost Level by Brian Keene
  • The Outside 2: The Fallen by Ada Hoffmann
  • The Outside 1: The Outside by Ada Hoffmann
  • Infernal Devices 2: Fiendish Schemes by K. W. Jeter
  • Infernal Devices 1: Infernal Devices by K. W. Jeter

For the price of $33, you can upgrade your bundle to the second tier, getting you an additional 19 novels, bringing the total to 25. To stick with the whole trilogies angle, you’ll be getting 9 full trilogies. Here are the full contents of the bundle:

  • The Hanged God Trilogy 3: Slaughtered Gods by Thilde Kold Holdt

  • The Christian Trilogy 3: All the Bells on Earth by James P. Blaylock
  • Aetherial Tales 1: Elfland by Freda Warrington
  • Aetherial Tales 2: Midsummer Night by Freda Warrington
  • The Lost Level 3: Hole in the World by Brian Keene
  • The Apex Book of World SF 1 by Lavie Tidhar
  • The Apex Book of World SF 2 by Lavie Tidhar
  • The Apex Book of World SF 3 by Lavie Tidhar

There are a few interesting highlights here for me. The Apex Books of World SF are really interesting. It’s cool to see the different themes explored, and ideas expressed, by sci-fi writers from different parts of the world. Sci-fi, at its best, has always been delightfully diverse.

The Beneath the Rising trilogy also really appeals. I really like the whole angle of high technology and folly leading to the awakening of unknowable horrors. It’s what I loved about Peter Clines’ Threshold series, and particularly The Fold, the second book in that series. I’d definitely be up for something with a similar premise!

There’s a lot of reading in this bundle. I love that you’re getting entire serieseseses of books in one go. It means that if you do find something that hits well, you can double down and immediately keep on going with the trilogy. The value for money is very good, as well.
