In the same way the Apocalypse World spawned many Powered by the Apocalypse titles, Blades in the Dark has spawned a ton of mechanically similar games under the heading, Forged in the Dark. Today, I am looking at the Forged in the Dark 2 Bundle that is currently available from Bundle of Holding. This bundle features a collection of standalone tabletop RPGs that use these rules, as originally introduced in John Harper’s Blades in the Dark.
As is common in Bundles of Holding, the offerings in the Forged in the Dark 2 Bundle are split across two tiers. Here’s a quick overview of what you’ll get at the first tier, which is priced at $9.95:

- Adrenaline (Adrenaline Games): A high-action modern-day or cyberpunk game where thrill-seeking characters swindle, steal, and shoot their way to infamy and fortune.
- Minutes to Midnight (Oliver Smock): Set in a modern Cold War, this game features a crew of spies trying to disrupt the balance of power.
- To Teach Their Own (Mousewife Games): A magical game where grown-up witches teach student witches valuable lessons about magic.
- Blades in the Dark System Reference Document (SRD): The model and inspiration for all the games in this offer.
If you level up your payment to grab the second tier, you get everything from the first one, plus the three items shown below. These are priced on a threshold which, at the time of writing, is sitting at $19.66.

- Rebel Crown (Narrative Dynamics): Courtly intrigue, obsessive ambition, and perilous conflict surround the Claimant, former heir to the throne.
- A Nocturne (Calum Grace): The crew of an interstellar spitter craft tries to make a profit by any means necessary.
- Sea of Dead Men (Joe Adkisson): A crew of pirates making their fortune in the lawless Carrascan Sea.
From Cold War espionage to interstellar adventures, this bundle offers a diverse range of settings that cater to different tastes and preferences. Each game in the bundle provides unique mechanics and storylines, ensuring that you’ll have plenty of content to explore and replay.
The value proposition here is very good, and the range of games covered in this bundle is really quite wide and interesting. Worth a punt, I reckon.
