Highlands Miniatures produces a wide range of historical and fantasy miniature STLS. They largely operate via Patreon and MMF. They are a creator that I have been following for some time, and I’ve printed a fair number of their miniatures over the past couple of years.

Now, as to the quality of the STLs, I’ve been really delighted with how good these are. I’ve been using their Questing Knights to make my Crypt Horrors for my Flesh-Eater Courts, and I’ve been using their Pegasus Knight mounts and Questing Knight riders to make my Morbheg Knights. Of course, I also used some of their Questing Knights on foot as my Crypt Guard.

At this point, they represent a pretty big proportion of my Flesh-Eaters.
I’ve generally been very happy with the provision of pre-supports. I’ve had one piece (questing knight champion) that consistently misprints without some adjustments to the leg supports. In all of my prints, this has been the only piece that really irked me, so that’s pretty good going! Certainly, we have none of the odd scaling issues that I’ve had with (my otherwise-beloved) Titan Forge.
Now, stylistically, I feel that Highlands produces good playing pieces. They have models that work great as part of a unit. Their stuff looks great ranked-up and are clearly designed with that in mind. Here are a few examples from their various different ranges:

That is not to say that they don’t have big, centrepiece miniatures. They do. Are they are astonishingly impressive as something you’d get from Archvillain or Lost Kingdom? No, but they fit well into their respective armies. Let’s have a quick look at a few of the larger minis from Highlands:

These are all lovely minis that manage to carry through the themes of their armies. There’s a consistency here. Consistency might actually be the word that I most associate with Highlands Miniatures. Their infantry, cavalry, characters, war machines, and monsters all work seamlessly within their respective armies. There is no mistaking that they are all part of the same force. I really appreciate that.
Highlands is probably my second most used creator when it comes to STLs. That consistency, quality, and knightly aesthetic has really made it possible to build my Flesh-Eater Courts army. Not everything in that army is from them, of course, but the majority is. I’d definitely recommend these folks.
