It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games, books, and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Games Workshop releases Gitmob boxed set for Age of Sigmar – Wolfy boys! Always a fan of more Gitz, and it’s great to see this classic archetype of Gobbo return to the table!

Unsurprisingly, I’ve ordered this set. I’m keen to build a wolf detachment for my Gloomspite Gitz, to add to my Troggs, Squigs, and Moonclan. I’m worried about how few points this set will end up representing, but I’m excited to get my hands on the new book.

Mongoose releases 2025 updated edition of The Great Rift for Traveller – Traveller rocks and Mongoose has been a great shepherd for the venerable sci-fi roleplaying game. Now, there’s a new edition of The Great Rift, updated for 2025:

This is a big, expansive setting in which to set your adventures and campaigns. Established over two books and a trio of posters, there’s a ton of content here that will mostly be aimed at Game Masters (Referees in Traveller’s parlance) rather than the players. Good stuff, here!

Wizards of the Coast to release Aetherdrift set for Magic: The Gathering – February is going to see the release of Aetherdrift, a racing-themed set for Magic: The Gathering. I’ve already preordered the Living Energy Commander Deck. I like energy decks, so it makes sense to double down and grab this one to introduce some green into my energy cards.

As usual, you’ll be able to grab boosters. Both Play and Collector’s Boosters are going to be available. I’ve not heard a huge amount of buzz about this set. I feel there are other sets this year (such as Tarkir and Final Fantasy) that folk seem a lot more excited for. Still, there will be some cool new cards and reprints that have already been revealed.

Atomic Mass releases Wisdom of the Council set for Shatterpoint – It’s been a while since I’ve looked at some Shatterpoint minis. There are some cool ones, here:

Shaak Ti is one of the coolest characters from the Clone Wars, so it’s really exciting to see her here! My favourite miniatures in this set are actually the two Padawans. They’re just really, really cool.

Ravensburger to release Belle/Beast and Iago/Jafar starter decks as part of Lorcana’s Archazia’s Island cycle – With our upcoming Lorcana event, it’s probably no surprise that these decks caught my eye:

My wife is also really excited about the combinations in these decks. She’s all about Beauty and the Beast, so it’s a theme that really appeals. Myself, I’ll swear blind that The Return of Jafar is a criminally underrated sequel to Aladdin!

Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
Nightkin, Lorenzo & others @ Dreadaxe Games – I love the blue on that Nightkin! He looks great. Lorenzo looks really good as well, but that blue just pops, yo.
New to Me – January 2025 @ Dude! Take Your Turn! – Arcs… Arcs… Let’s think about Arcs. I enjoyed my games of Arcs, but I can’t say they were all that special. I think I’ll like it more when, for our next game, I mix in the Leaders and Lore stuff. I think I crave the asymmetry that expansion will provide.
Top Three AOS Lists for the Cataclysmic Age of Sigmar Grand Tournament @ Woehammer – Fun lists! I love it when all of the lists in a Woehammer post are interesting to me and feature zero elves. Sorry, Aelves. These are useful to read as I try to get my head around this edition. I feel so behind!
Trollslayer – William King @ Wordaholic Anonymous – This is an absolute classic! Honestly, though, Gotrek is solid Warhammer fiction that really exudes the whole feel of The Old World.
Top 5 Honor Guard Sergeants @ Plastic Craic – I need to get my head around this edition of AoS and, already, the updates to the game that have already come out. Jeez, it’s a treadmill, isn’t it? I’m delighted to see the Marrowscroll up top, though. Got some of those to finish painting up for some upcoming games of AoS with my FEC!
