let me tell you about Fern Brady’s latest comedy special on Netflix, Autistic Bikini Queen. As a proud Scot, a lover of great comedy, and a big fan of Fern Brady, I was chuffed to bits with what I saw. Brady’s performance is nothing short of brilliant, and it’s a real treat for anyone who appreciates raw, honest, and hilarious stand-up.

First off, you just can’t help but admire Brady’s unfiltered approach. She takes the stage with a refreshing honesty that’s quintessentially Scottish. Sharing her experiences as an autistic woman, she tackles topics that many shy away from, and she does it with a grace and humour that’s absolutely cracking.

Brady’s humour is thistle-sharp and just as biting. Her observations are spot on, and she doesn’t hold back when poking fun at herself and the world around her. The timing of her punchlines is impeccable, and you’ll find yourself laughing out loud from start to finish.

What’s truly special about Autistic Bikini Queen is the way Fern blends humour with heartfelt storytelling. She opens up about her life in a way that’s both touching and relatable, creating a bond with the audience that’s hard to come by. It’s more than just a comedy show; it’s an experience that leaves you feeling connected and inspired.

Fern Brady has been open about her autism diagnosis, which she received later in life. In her comedy, she often discusses how her autism affects her daily life and interactions, bringing a unique perspective to her audience. She uses her platform to challenge stereotypes and misconceptions about autism, highlighting both the challenges and the strengths that come with it. Her candidness about her experiences helps to foster a greater understanding and acceptance of neurodiversity, making her a powerful advocate for the autistic community. At some point, I’ll do a review of her book, which explores this in more depth.

If you’re a fan of stand-up that challenges the norm and offers a unique perspective, then Autistic Bikini Queen is a must-see. Fern Brady’s blend of sharp wit, authenticity, nuero-spicy twists, and heartfelt storytelling makes this special stand out in the crowded world of comedy. I’d call Autistic Bikini Queen a triumph. It’s a special that will leave you laughing, thinking, and feeling just a wee bit more connected to the world. Highly recommended, and that’s nae joke!
