It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games, books, and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dmystates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Games Workshop releases a new Codex for Warhammer 40,000’s Chaos Knights – It’s a new codex for everyone’s favourite sci-fi stompy boys! Some might claim to prefer the Imperial Knights, but they are adorably deranged individuals. New codex!

Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! Will the new points values see a return of the bigger, stompier boys to the tabletop? It was always sad that in an army supposedly built around fielding huge machines of war, most lists consisted almost entirely of smaller, mid-large machines of war. The new points might just see the biggest, stompiest boys finally be viable again!

Libellud to release refreshed edition of Mysterium – Mysterium remains on my pile of unplayed games. There isn’t really a pile. It’s a metaphor. A metaphorical pile. There’s a refreshed version of the game on the way:

I was a bit fan of Dixit for a long time. I feel that I actually got a bit burnt out on it. Mysterium takes the coolest bits of Dixit and adds some mystery. You solve a mystery… like, obviously. It’s right there in the name…

Wizards of the Coast releases the Final Fantasy set for Magic: The Gathering – Final Fantasy’s Magic set is out! It does strike me as slightly odd that this happened whilst there is an ongoing Final Fantasy card game, but whatever. The boosters are here.

As usual, there are Play Boosters and Collector Boosters, along with a selection of Commander decks. This looks to be an excellent set. I’m currently working on a deck based around a new commander from the set.

Bound in Blood sourcebook now available for Vampire: the Masquerade – I love Vampire. It’s an amazing game in an amazing setting for amazing people. I’m always interested in any supplement, so this book grabbed my attention:

There’s a lot of magic in here, with thin-blood alchemy, blood sorcery, oblivion powers, and more. There are a bunch of cool artifacts. There are new loresheets. There’s a lot in here, spread over the book’s 111 pages.

Lux Lupo releases Apothebakery – Oh, this is cute! Apothebakery is a game I’ve seen advertised everywhere as it sees a retail release following its successful Kickstarter in 2024:

Honestly, this is more appealing via actual retail than it was on Kickstarter. I’ve got a real dislike of Kickstarter as a platform and have only really backed simple projects and those from very trusted vendors recently. The game is interesting, with a fantastic concept and truly amazing, adorable art. I’ve got some friends who would love the visual style of the game.

Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
Spearhead: Kruleboys – Beginners 1,000 Point Starter Army @ Woehammer – A good post, and one that I immediately sent to a friend who is still in denial that his Kruleboys spearhead will grow into a new army…
Painted Yondu @ The Bovine Overlord – This mini looks great. I love Yondu as a character, and I adore that beautiful, vibrant blue. Fantastic work!
Codex Chaos Knights Review and Knight Ruinator Unboxing | Warhammer 40k @ Sprues & Brews – I spent too much time on Reddit before the book was released. Now that it’s out, there’s a bit less catastrophising; the points help with this. It’s not a great book, but it seems alright, and the army is still just fundamentally cool.
On Pretending to be Normal @ Taskerland – This is a really excellent article with a nice premise. I do enjoy the idea of sanity in Call of Cthulhu and thematically similar games, and this is a great piece that further explores the context.
Midrange bespoke lists in Chaos @ Overthinking Warcry – A fun Warcry post looking at lists built around midrange fighters. There are some fun lists here for your almost-but-not-quite big lads!
