It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games, books, and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Games Workshop releases the 2025 Christmas Red Gobbo miniature – Da Red Gobbo’s Tinboy is Games Workshop’s 2025 seasonal commemorative miniature. It’s a multipart plastic diorama-style kit featuring Da Red Gobbo piloting a bespoke “Tinboy” contraption, sold as a limited-run Warhammer Commemorative Series piece and available for preorder with an early November release.

This has that typical Red Gobbo cheeky holiday flavour (Gobbo peeking from a hatch, sack of “gifts”), sculpted details that suit painting and basing for display, and clear crossover potential as a fun unit for an Ork collection.

Mongoose releases Powers That Be supplement for Paranoia – This is the newest supplement from Mongoose Publishing for the Paranoia RPG, expanding the game’s political soup with detailed factions, service groups, and secret societies that tug Troubleshooters into bureaucratic power plays.

Rather than fresh rules for Troubleshooters, this book is a referee’s leverage kit: faction mechanics, plot hooks that turn routine missions into masked turf wars, and guidance for adjudicating who’s really pulling the strings so your sessions become about back‑room manoeuvres as much as chaotic slapstick mayhem..

Stonemaier Games releases Origin Story – Origin Story is Stonemaier Games’ new tableau‑building, trick‑taking game from designers Jamey Stegmaier and Pete Wissinger that has players crafting a superhero (or supervillain) origin across five chapters. It accommodates 1–5 players in around 45 minutes.

Play is supposed to feel like composing a comic: win tricks to power chapter effects, add tableau cards (gadgets, allies, grudges) to grow your character, then flip to a revealed hero with an ultimate ability in the final round. It’s a light‑to‑medium strategy game with a narrative groove and strong family‑friendly table appeal.

Cubicle 7 releases Sons of Russ supplement for Wrath & Glory – Sons of Russ is a Cubicle 7 supplement for Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory focused on the Space Wolves, pitching Fenrisian sagas, tribal flavour, and battlefield ferocity for player characters and campaigns.

It’s a compact splatbook and toolkit with new archetypes and PC options (from Blood Claws to Wolf Guard), chapter lore and history, kit lists and gear, an adventure, and rules to run Fenris‑centric sagas. The volume is initially released as a 96-page PDF.

Wyrd to release a starter set for the fourth edition of Malifaux – I do love me some Malifaux! Fourth edition is rolling around, and with it is coming a starter set:

At the moment, it seems like I’m going to be splitting the set with someone else. Both crews look great, but I’ll be grabbing the Ampersand one. They’re cool, mechanical Outcasts. I like the Outcasts a lot, and these guys are delightfully ramshackle.

Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
Small Minded General: My 10mm Fantasy Project @ Woehammer – Other than some slight dabbling with Epic as a child and some recent plays of Adeptus Titanicus, I’ve not really played much at this scale. I’m tempted to try and build some forces to give Peter’s rules a spin!
1000 Posts and Counting @ Dude! Take Your Turn! – A nice, reflective post about a really fantastic blog that I frequently visit. Go check it out, then start delving through their archive!
Adeptus Mechanicus @ Spalanz – I love the Adeptus Mechanicus, so it’s disappointing that novellas are a mixed bag, at best. I do love the muted blue on those miniatures, though!
Adventure Log: If you could DIE all over again @ Cannibal Halfling Gaming – This is an interesting post about a game in which I am also very interested. Beyond that, there’s a good set of musings on repetition of a scenario that’s also worth a read.
Best Miniatures Games to play 2025 October Update @ That 70s Game – This is an interesting list that is immediately invalidated by having 40K ahead of AoS. Kidding. Mostly. Nah, it makes for an interesting read, with plenty of games with which I am not super familiar.

Thanks for the shoutout!
When you do a post every day like you do, 1000 posts isn’t quite as big of a deal, right? LOL
In fact, I’m jealous that you can even do that.

Good luck with Malifaux, I’ve wanted to try it for years, but have never been able to find anyone interested…
