It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games, books, and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Games Workshop releases a new edition of Blood Bowl – Third Season Edition is Games Workshop’s new boxed set reboot for the pitch, headlined by two fresh teams (the Brionne Barons and the Nehekhara Nightmares) and a complete starter package for new coaches.

The box is a full-on kickoff: a full rulebook, double‑sided pitch, dugouts, status tokens, templates, dice, and cheat sheets to smooth onboarding; the rules are refined rather than rewritten, and the new Bretonnian and Tomb Kings teams shift play toward precision passing and sand‑scarred brawn, respectively, making this an easy league‑starter or standalone game.

Preorders open for First Strike, the first set for the World of Tanks TCG – First Strike launches the World of Tanks TCG with over 220 cards of tactical mayhem. This booster box is your ticket to rare tanks, brutal combos, and battlefield dominance.

The booster box includes 24 packs of cards, each full of tank units, crew upgrades, and faction synergies. Whether you’re building fast flanking decks or heavy armour walls, this Wave 1 release fuels your arsenal for strategic warfare. There seems to be a resurgence of new TCGs at the moment. Will this be one to stick around? I’m not sure if Archon has the infrastructure for longevity. We’ll see…

Mantic releases their first Invasion expansion book for Kings of War – Invasion: Book 1 is the first expansion for Kings of War 4th Edition from Mantic Games, introducing the invading Xirkaali Empire alongside full army lists for the Trident Realm, Halflings, and Salamanders.

This is a hardcover expansion of lore, art, and playable lists that reframes 4th Edition’s metagame around a sudden imperial thrust; expect new narrative hooks, faction tactics for coastal and amphibious warfare, and a November 2025 preorder/shipping window for the print edition.

FFG releases a Palpatine-themed deck for Star Wars Unlimited – The Chancellor Palpatine Spotlight Deck is one of two ready‑to‑play decks released alongside Star Wars Unlimited’s new Secrets of Power set. It is designed to showcase the set’s new politics‑and‑scheming mechanics and give players a grab‑and‑go Palpatine‑led option for Star Wars: Unlimited.

It’s a prebuilt 50‑card deck focused on covert plays; ideal for newcomers or as a competitive demo deck. It’s available from today and is released alongside an accompanying Padme Amidala deck.

Stonemaier Games releases sets of fan-designed cards for Wingspan – Stonemaier Games is releasing fan‑designed promo packs for Wingspan. There are six regional packs, each containing new bird cards vetted and printed in collaboration with Elizabeth Hargrave and the fan creation team.

These aren’t a rules expansion as such, but a straight card boost: 150 new bird cards (six packs × 25), region‑themed, consistent art and formatting, sold individually through Stonemaier’s store and priced as promo packs for easy pickup.

Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
Turnip28 Toff @ A loft full of lead – This is so cool! I love this miniature. Right, I’m jumping on this in 2026. I’ve said it before, but I mean it this time. For reals. Probably.
Eldritch Horror Digital Coming to Steam in early 2026 @ Dude! Take Your Turn! – I want this! I will grab it when it comes out. I really enjoy Eldritch Horror. I should try to get it back to the table soon…
Painting goals: 2 months left! @ Spalanz – Yup, only 2 months left! I’m feeling the pressure of this, too. For me, I’ll be sharing a plan tomorrow of what I want to get finished up. I am looking forward to seeing some MCP minis from the linked blog, though.
Golden Demon Essen 2025 winners @ Scent of a Gamer – Golden Demon is always a massive source of inspiration. I’m always glad to have my attention drawn towards it. Some real jaw-droppers in here.
Halfling Archers @ Lair of the Lagomorph – These are gorgeous. I love seeing classic miniatures really done justice, and these little chaps are just bursting with character. Nice to see the Moot get some representation!
