Last week, I textured up some Canoptek Doomstalkers. They’d been sitting for some time and it was good to finally make some progress on them. As a reminder, here is what they looked like:
I wasn’t able to spray them, as I’ve been a bit unwell and adding aerosol fumes to that whole situation seemed inadvisable.
Instead, I grabbed a bunch of other previously-built Necron miniatures and set to work with the texture paints. The stack I grabbed consisted of:
- 20 Warriors
- 10 Triarch Praetorians
- 2 Ghost Arks
- 1 Triarch Stalker
Some of these look like they’ll be fun to paint. Others… not so much. I’m worried about the ghost arks. I just think it’s going to be a slog… twice.
Other than these, most of the rest of what’s on the slate is not new. Let’s take a look anyway!
First up is a pair of dragons from Archon Studio’s Dungeons & Lasers range. I got them built:
They now need to be put onto 130mm bases, and we’ll see what we can do to get them FEC-ready.
Staying on the AoS theme, I painted Festus a wee while back. I’ve still got his buddies to finish. These are the trio of Sloven Knights:
As I start on them, I can’t tell if I’m enjoying painting them or not. They looked pretty detailed at first, but I also think they’ll be quick. There are too many fabrics involved to go with my usual scheme of just pink. I might need some black, too.
I’m still printing up some miniatures to use as normal Lokhust Destroyers for m’ Necrons, as I really don’t want to use the old miniatures.

I haven’t done a ghost ark, but I have done a doomsday ark, and it was a bit of a pain, yeah… I imagine having all those bodies inside will be even worse! But good luck, looking forward to seeing the progress!
