Throwback Thursday: Paranoia Paperwork

Having recently shared some homemade resources for that venerable RPG, Paranoia, I began thinking about some previous resources that I shared back in 2017. This old post gathered a selection of forms for players to fill out in the course of a game.

The forms are a fantastic prop in any game of Paranoia, and I use them every time I run the game. I’ve actually got a shiny, red box file sitting under my bookshelf with a stock of the forms, some pens, and other bits and bobs to be used in the game.

They’re not only good thematically, but they’re also a good tool for table management with a bigger group. Where a large number of players might be a bit boisterous during Paranoia, shouting over one another to curry favour with Friend Computer, the forms can mitigate this by giving players something individual and quiet to focus on for half a minute or so. This focuses energies away from more disruptive behaviours, and enriches the experience of Alpha Complex by bringing the players into the bureaucracy of it.

Here are a few examples of the forms that you’ll find in the main post:

I really do suggest printing out a batch for your games. Normally I print them off at 2 per sheet, single-sided. This gives a good stock of A5-sized forms.

Here’s another link to the post so you can take a look for yourself.

Enjoy!
