Back in 2016, I attended an event in Huntly in Aberdeenshire. The event, The White Wood Gala, was the culmination of a project involving my sister (an artist and curator) during her time at Deveron Projects. She’s since moved on to pastures new. In all honesty, the family connection is why I found myself in Huntly on that day.
I had a good time. The event was well put together, there was a great range of things going on, and the surroundings were beautiful. The weather held out as well, which definitely helped.

Of course, I took away a lot from the day, but for the purposes of the blog, I reflected on the event from a very specific perspective. Storytelling. Specifically, storytelling with a slightly fey-flavoured twist.

The time I spent with Satish Kumar gave me a lot to think about in terms of my work, whilst storyteller Ben Macfadyen exposed me to a form of storytelling I had not experienced before; one which did have some potential to translate to the tabletop.
