It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Games Workshop releases a new Battletome for the Soulblight Gravelords – More Battletomes! Woot! This time, it’s Soulblight Gravelords. I liked the Vampire Counts army in Warhammer Fantasy Battles, and I keep that fondness for their successors in Age of Sigmar.

I’m interested to see how this book shakes out, and I wonder if it will motivate me a bit more to press on with painting my Soulblight miniatures. I’ve already put in the work with the building and conversions, and I’ve enjoyed finishing a few of the characters. This one’s worth watching!

Physical copies of the Demon Dog RPG make their way into retail channels – As I mentioned earlier in the week, we do like Mörk Borg here! It’s always interesting, therefore, to take a look at games based on Mörk Borg. Games, as it happens, like Demon Dog:

The publisher, Nightfall Games, described Demon Dog:
“Demon Dog is a role-playing game set in a medieval history that never was. You play “Dogs”, revenants that were snatched from purgatory by Demon Barons, seeking redemption and a pint. You’re not a hero now and you weren’t one before you lived, but you’re possibly making things better, or worse, or at the very least less boring.“
It sounds fun, and it sounds like it sticks to that punky tone that we’ve all come to expect from Mörk Borg and the games that are based on it. Loving both Mörk Borg and CY_Borg, I’m keen to read this one.

Clone Commander Cody released for Star Wars Legion – I wonder how much of a future Legion has if Shatterpoint takes off. For now, there are more models coming for the game, including this latest offering. It features Commander Cody, one of the major clone characters from the Clone Wars series:

Along with Cody, this set also includes a couple of clone troopers, Waxer and Boil. They’re nice minis. Of course, they’ll maybe look a bit less unique in among an army of clone troopers, but more variety is always nice.

Easier Solo Game Journals guidebook released on DriveThruRPG – So, this looks like an interesting guidebook to playing journaling games in a better, more satisfying way. I’ve not played any journal games as yet, having only really encountered them relatively recently.

I actually really like the look of this book. I think if I do get to the point where I’m going to play a journal game, I might pick this up. I’ve never played these games before, so some well-considered advice would be pretty welcome.

Modiphius releases Romulan Strike team STLS for Star Trek Adventures – I previously looked at a Federation Away Team from the same range. This time, it’s the Romulans. They’re one of the more interesting factions in the Star Trek galaxy, and it’s cool to see their Next Generation era uniforms represented here:

$12 seems a pretty good deal for what you’re getting. The full contents are:
- Romulan Commander Female
- Romulan Centurion Male 1
- Romulan Centurion Male 2
- Romulan Centurion Male 3
- Romulan Uhlan Female
- Romulan Uhlan Male
I do particularly like that commander miniature.

Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
Soulblight Gravelords | Warhammer Age of Sigmar Battletome Review @ Sprues & Brews – Sprues & Brews continues to put out my favourite Battletome reviews. This is a concise, well-thought-out, and entertaining review that only amps up my excitement for this book.
On Earnings @ LunarShadow Designs – I really like LunarShadow Designs’ posts in which they reflect on their business. It’s an interesting insight into being a small publisher. I really appreciate that they share this information and their experiences.
Dungeon23 – The Turnip @ Hive Fleet Charybdis – I love these posts! I’ve been reading them for a whole, and they’re just cool. Each is a wee map, along with some notes. They’re so well-presented and cool.
Immortal Empires has taken over my life @ Thoughts from Your Average Joe – I’ve not played Total War 3 since Immortal Empires launched. I need to go back to it. It sounds amazing, and I loved this mode in previous games. I like that it really feels like those of us who’ve been with this series for years are being rewarded!
The Birmingham Bullrun @ TT Gaming – A good writeup of a Kings of War tournament. The author’s goblins look great, but then so do the other armies that he shares. There are loads of cool pics, too!
