Completed: Genestealer Cults Patriarch (and Better Iconward Pics)

Well, with a new edition of Warhammer 40,000 rapidly approaching, I guess it’s time to get down to painting up an army. I’ve long threatened the Genestealer Cults, so let’s get going!

First up, I took some proper pictures of the Iconward that I previously painted up as a test model (and contest entry), so here’s that guy:

I completely drew a blank on this chap as I sat down to paint him. I stared out across my colours for quite some time, paralysed with indecision. I sat forward and stared at him. I sat back and surveyed the colours I had laid out on the table…

I reached for my drink.

I reached for my drink.

I reached for my drink…

Sorted.

Of course, these are the colours for the robes and armour of the cultists. My next miniature for the army wears no robes and needs no armour. As such, I stuck to the flesh, bone/carapace, and sinew colours that I had established on that test mini. Here’s the daddy:

The slightly funny thing is that my immediate target for this army was to complete a combat patrol, but neither of the models I’ve painted are actually featured in that set…

Oh, well!
