Throwback Thursday: The Creative Destructiveness of the RPG Player

This was a wee post that I put together whilst writing notes for a then-upcoming game of The Dresden Files Roleplaying Game. I really like the Dresden Files RPG. I also quite like planning games for friends. At the time of writing this Throwback Thursday post, it’s been too long since I’ve run a game for an adult group. That needs to be addressed…

The focus on this post was on the effort that goes in to preparing an RPG session or campaign, and then the glee with which players derail those plans. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as you want to give players agency and allow for creative approaches to scenarios.

I think the term ‘creative destruction’ at the end of the post is very apt. It sums things up quite nicely, at least to me.
