Progress on the Flesh-Eater Courts

One project that I started a while back, but had not recently revisited was my Flesh-Eater Courts.  To date, I’ve only finished a single model for this army.  This was my Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist, that I did last April:

It is time to press on and get a bit more done, innit?  With that in mind, I’ve been working away on the army, starting with a new list.  Adapted slightly from some discussion on Discord, this is the list I am working towards:

Okay. The original plan was to base thus around existing Warhammer miniatures. I decided to have some fun with 3D printing instead, largely basing my army on Highlands Miniatures knights. I’ve got everyhting from the list above printed, plus more Ghouls and characters for summoning. I need some Pegasus Knights to represent Crypt Flayers, too.

Here are some work in progress photos of the minis:

I’m really pleased with these minis. The knights look fantastic, and didn’t need a whole lot of work, except for some green stuff to fill out the back of their heads. Here’s a picture I took as I was working on them:

The ghouls, I finished building some time ago. They’re based on some historical miniatures; some foot sergeants from Fireforge:

These will likely be the first minis that I finish for the army. I’ve made the mistake before of doing all of the cool minis first and losing motivation for the less interesting ones. I’m actually enjoying painting them more than I expected. The Fireforge minis take contrast paints pretty well!

I also made a start on my Green Knight, who is my Varghulf Courtier:

The army is coming along really well. I didn’t expect to really be pushing this army at the moment, but I’m quite happy with it, all in all. I’m hoping to have more progress to share soon!
