Origonally released as a Warcry warband, there was a hot minute where the Royal Beastflayers were really the alpha serfs among the Flesh-Eater Courts. They’ve been usurped somewhat by the Crypt Guard in the new book, but I still wanted some.
As mentioned on Wednesday, these were prints from Lost Hobbyist, to which I added some ghoul heads. The scale is therefore a bit off with the rest of the army, but I think I’m going to be seeing that with quite a few units, seeing as this is a mix of old GW, 3D prints, and historical miniatures.
Here is the first of two units:

I kept a slightly different screen to differentiate the two units… or I tried to. I ended up making a mistake and giving one of the chaps with a shield the wrong colour trousers. Oh well. Maybe they’re delusional about dashing?.
Here’s the second set:

They actually do have a slightly different feel with the warmer and colder colours; more than I’d expected, at least.
And that’s another wee chunk of the Flesh-Eaters done. The tally so far is:
- Abhorrent Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist
- 2×20 Crypt Ghouls
- Abhorrent Ghoul King
- 2×10 Royal Beastflayers
We are 62 models in, or 1,120 points. Progress! I need to get some knights finished. In terms of what is in progress, we’ve got the following:
- 9 Crypt Flayers (printed, unbuilt)
- 18 Morbheg Knights (printed, unbuilt)
- 18 Crypt Horrors (half painted)
- 2 Abhorrent Archregents (primed)
- Nagash (printed, unbuilt)
I really need to find something to be Ushoran.

Haha, I love these! Your painting scheme is just perfect for them too.
