Bundle of Holding: Fiasco Classic

Fiasco is a favourite of mine. It’s also loved by others in my gaming groups. I got excited, therefore, when I saw a new Fiasco-themed Bundle of Holding which features the game, along with others from Bully Pulpit and Jason Morningstar. This is listed as ‘Fiasco Classic’. I like the new edition of Fiasco, but I prefer the old one, so it’s especially cool to see that version here.

The first tier of this bundle has the following content with a $9.95 price tag:

So, obviously the main thing here is the Fiasco rulebook. It’s such a great game and so easy to just pick up and play. I love game, the moments it creates, and the modularity of the playsets. This tier also includes a bunch of playsets to help you set of some cool games. As an aside, if you’re into British politics or Scottish sitcoms, I’ve made a couple of playsets, myself!

The rest of this tier consists of games with which I am not at all familiar. Of the 4 other games, The Climb and Out of Dodge are both really interesting, but I’ll definitely need to read up on them!

The second tier of this bundle is priced on a threshold that is currently sitting at $20.51 at the time of writing. This price tag will get you everything in tier 1 plus the following items:

The Fiasco Companion is an excellent book. It really plays up the modularity of the rules, introducing a number of alternative, additional, and option rules that you can add to your game, or not. Pick and choose, fam! There are also a couple of playset collections here, highlighting some really cool and polished playsets that you can use to create scenarios that will set you up for a great session.

Winterhorn is an interesting game with which I am quite familiar. It is all about protest, activism, and the limits put upon activists by governments. As much as it’s a game, it’s also a really interest experience and statement.

I’m not familiar with the other games, but they do sound really interesting. Jason Morningstar and the fine folks at Bully Pulpit really manage to find interesting concepts and build interesting, socially conscious games around them.

I think this bundle is fantastic. I’ve already got Fiasco and do not need to pick it up again, but there are other games in here that seem really cool. Heartily recommend!
