And that’s us up to 2,000 points for the Empire! I’ll look to expand these guys to 2,000 at some point, but for now, I’m delighted to have a finished 1,000 point army. This guy seems a fitting way to end the project for now.
As with the rest of the army to date, this was printed from a Titan Forge STL on my Elegoo Saturn S. I’m quite happy with how he turned out; indeed, I’m happy with this army, generally.

As with the rest of the characters in this project, let’s get some backstory to go with him, aye?
Captain Alaric Sternblade, the bearer of Heinrich Volkmarsson’s battle standard, has a storied past marked by both valour and tragedy. Born in the bustling city of Nuln, Alaric was the son of a blacksmith. From an early age, he showed exceptional promise in both martial prowess and leadership. His life took a pivotal turn during a Chaos incursion when he was just a young recruit in the city’s militia. During the siege, Alaric’s courage and quick thinking saved countless lives as he rallied the defenders and led a counterattack that drove the invaders from the city gates. This act of heroism caught the eye of Heinrich Volkmarsson, who saw in the young soldier a kindred spirit and potential leader.
Alaric’s dedication to the Empire and Sigmar’s cause only grew under Heinrich’s mentorship. Rising through the ranks, he became known for his unwavering loyalty, tactical acumen, and fierce combat skills. His most significant moment came during the Battle of Helmgart Pass, where Heinrich entrusted him with the battle standard. Bearing the sacred symbol, Alaric led a desperate charge that turned the tide of battle, earning him the eternal respect and admiration of his comrades. Now, as the bearer of the Battle Standard, Captain Sternblade stands as a symbol of hope and defiance, embodying the spirit of Volkmarsson’s Vanguard and inspiring those who fight alongside him.
