I always loved the aesthetic of Warmachine and Hordes, and I especially adored some of the cool themed forces that you could field. It’s a real pity that the game was not able to continue under Privateer Press. Given their history of miniature-heavy shovelware games, I’m not the biggest fan of Steam Forge, who now hold the license for the games, but I hope that they are able to prove my concerns unfounded.
Okay, so the Mercenaries in Warmachine are interesting enough that they got a post to themselves. Hammer Strike is probably my favourite of the two. I like the Rhulic Dwarfs. I like that nice, chunky aesthetic. I also already have some painted up. Not many; just a wee starter set. I do like the aquatic Warjacks that come with the more pirate-themed mercs, though. They’ve got a real Bioshock vibe going on.
