It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games, books, and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Games Workshop releases a Death Guard Codex for Warhammer 40,000 – The Death Guard are my favourite of the God-specific Chaos Legions. It’s so secret that I like me some Nurgle!

The new book looks fun and thematic. If I do succumb to a power armour army, these guys would be a big contender. I love the bloated bodies, the scythes, and the general gribbliness of the whole force. Fantastic stuff!

Cubicle 7 releases Lord of Stone and Steel supplement for Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play – The fourth edition line for Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play is getting pretty extensive. Cubicle 7 is really pushing out a lot of really compelling content.

This is all about the dwarven realms. There’s a ton of content here for your subterranean adventures. Dwarves are such a cool race in Warhammer, and they face off against some of the most iconic opponents when defending their realms; namely the Skaven and Night Goblins. A lot of potential for fun, here!

Preorders available for MTG’s Spider-Man set – Oh, hey, more Magic. They’re releasing a lot, aren’t they? Honestly, I’m less enthused for the Spider-Man set than I have been for others, but there will no doubt be some cool, interesting cards. I’m just not a huge fan of the theme.

It looks to be a full set, and actually won’t come with Commander decks. We’re looking at the usual spread of Play and Collector’s Boosters, along with the pictured bundle set. There have been a few previews, and I’d expect to see a bit more as we hurtle towards the September release date.

Atomic Mass Games to release Midnight Sons for Marvel Crisis Protocol – Atomic Mass continues to put out gorgeous minis for Marvel Crisis Protocol. This time, it’s a set of pretty iconic, popular characters that lie just slightly outside the Marvel mainstream:

I know most of these characters, but know nothing for the Midnight Sons affiliation. That Blade mini is especially cool, and I do love Moon Knight.

Free League releases Realms of the Three Rings for The One Ring Roleplaying Game – The One Ring is the Lord of the Rings RPG from Free League. The latest book released for this line is an Elf-themed supplement:

The book features a number of new landmarks and locations, characters and adversaries, and details of Sauron’s plots against the Elves. There’s a particular focus on specific Elven realms, like Lórien, Rivendell and Lindon, and the characters who call these lands their home.

Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
Fallout Wasteland Warfare – Utility Protectron – Done @ Kuribo’s Painting – Gorgeous! What a beautiful yellow. Fantastic mini, and it’s really done justice, here.
Death Guard Codex Review | Warhammer 40,000 10th Edition @ Sprues & Brews – The best god-specific Chaos legion returns! The book sounds a lot of fun, and pretty characterful. I don’t know enough about the current state of Warhammer 40,000 to comment on the rules, but the game’s meant to be about cool stuff first and foremost!
Daily Commander: Sen Triplets @ J.M. Casual Blog – These look fun. They look chaotic. I like those things.
Hogtied & Handsome: Chris Riley’s Meta-Crushing Bonesplitterz @ Plastic Craic – I really wish GW hadn’t signed the death warrant on the Bonesplitterz. They’re such a fun little army. I’ve got a stack of Bonesplitterz boxes that I’d like to do something with. Maybe there’s another game I could use them with? Not The Old World; that’s insult upon injury.
Deckbuilding After Dark: Vampire and Netrunner for Magic Players @ Lair of the Lagomorph – This is a fun post. I do love Magic, and I also love Netrunner. I never played the Vampire card games, but I continue to be temped…
