It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for a little digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
They are in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
The Plaguewrought Brotherhood @ Miniature Miscellany – As I continue to paint my own Tzeentch miniatures for Age of Sigmar and start eyeing up some Nurgle goodies, it’s cool to see this Rotbringers army. What I really like about it is how different it is to the normal Nurgle colours. Gone are the fleshy tones, browns and greens and in comes blue! Really cool army, really well painted!
Review: Fate Worlds – Sails Full Of Stars @ Burn After Running: RPG One-Shots – I love FATE. It’s one of my favourite RPG systems, and I’m keen to read anything that Evil Hat puts out. This is a review of one of the published settings, and it makes some interesting observations. I feel that the reviewer gives a very fair appraisal, picking up on negatives, such as the sparseness of the setting and a lack of depth in one of the new skills, but also on positives like the new stunts and general details of the setting. A good, concise read.
A Solitary Unboxing – Star Wars Destiny: Spirit of Rebellion Booster Box @ Open Seat Gaming – I keep swithering about Star Wars Destiny, as although it looks cool, I just don’t have anyone else in the area who would be interested in playing it. With that in mind, I’ll probably steer clear of it just now. I also have concerns about the longevity of the game, given the lack of stock that FFG seem to put out. This tends to be a bit of warning sign for this sort of game. This article is great, as it details an unboxing of a booster box, gives a good idea about what you can expect and does so with lots of great pictures!
Race for the Galaxy App – Coming to Steam & Massive Update @ Dude! Take Your Turn! – I like Race for the Galaxy, but goodness gracious, there’s a lot of housekeeping in this game, plus an entire pictorial language to learn! An app would be a good way to play. I didn’t know there was one until seeing this article, so definitely intending to pick it up on Steam. Thanks for the heads-up!
Stuffy Library @ Links for Libraries: Circulating Board Game Collections – I’ve got a big interest in the use of games in schools and libraries, so this is an interesting article that links to loads of cool resources. Most of the content seems aimed at an American audience, which makes sense as it is an American blog, but a lot the general stuff is transferrable. Very useful, ta!
On No Rerolls, we’ve been a bit quiet, but with the summer holidays upon us, I’m hoping to get some articles finished off in the coming weeks!
See you next week!
