1k AoS Tourney List: Legion of the First Prince

I didn’t think I’d be making it to another Age of Sigmar event this year.  All of the events I was interested in either clashed with life events and prior commitments, or were just too far away in terms of travel.  I was delighted, therefore, to learn of an event a mere couple of hours away.

That’s down the A9, of course.  Everything is down the A9…

The A9.  The all-road.

Now, it’s a tad unfortunate that this is a 1,000 point event, as I don’t think Age of Sigmar really shines at that level. That said, I’m definitely going because I get to spend a whole day playing a fantastic game!  Woo and/or yay!

I have decided to take Daemons with me.  I just want to field Be’lakor, really.  As you’ll be aware if you’ve been reading blog lately, my Legion of the First Prince army is very much work in progress.  I have a few models done, but not the bulk of the army.Th

Thankfully there’s no painting requirement, but I’ll try to get more of them finished in time.

You cannae fit a whole lot into 1k, so here’s what I’m putting together:

Allegiance: Legion of the First Prince
– Grand Strategy: No Place for the Weak
– Triumphs: Bloodthirsty

Leaders
Be’Lakor, the Dark Master (360)
Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage (280)
 General
 Command Trait: Ruinous Aura
 Artefact: Armour of the Pact

Battleline
5 x Flesh Hounds (105)*
10 x Pink Horrors of Tzeentch (250)*

Core Battalions
*Expert Conquerors

Total: 995 / 2000
Reinforced Units: 0 / 4
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 48
Drops: 4

The Pink Horrors are there because… well, of course they are.  Why wouldn’t they be?  They are so tough, what with all the splitting.  They are also great with the Expert Conquerors Battalion, helping me take objective by making each one worth three models for that purpose.

Delicious.

The Hounds are there because they are cost effective.  That’s all, really.  Being Galletian Veterens hurts them a lot and I’m a tad anxious about them in a world of Bounty Hunters.

The Bloodthirster is a suitable General.  He’s mobile, hard-hitting, and a good locus for summoning Bloodletters.

Be’Lakor is great.  He’s a big lad with horns.  He has the juice (he has the juice!).  I can’t imagine a more beautiful thing.

He’s just such a cool lad.  He’s not nearly as tough as he was since losing the ability to hand off his wounds to lesser Daemons,  ut He’s still going to be a lot of fun, especially if I roll well for shutting down an enemy unit.

I’ll be bringing a selection of different lesser Daemons for summoning, too.  This army’s summoning has good potential for giving me decent board control, so long as I get some decent rolls.

The event is next weekend and I will make sure to do a wee write-up the following week.
