It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Forgeworld releases Lady Haera for Necromunda – Forgeworld continues to put out really cool models and characters for Necromunda. This latest offering is the noblewoman, Lady Haera, 13th Daughter of Lord Helmawr:

I don’t know much about this character, but I love the model. Now, Necromunda is great, but i actually think I’d more likely use this model, with some conversion, as a leader for a Greywater Fastness/Cogfort Cities of Sigmar army. She’d be great in that role! I don’t expect I’d be doing that sort of army any time soon, but it’s a cool concept.
Chaosium releases Regency Cthulhu supplement for Call of Cthulhu – Chaosium has been hitting it out of the park with consistently good releases for this seventh edition of Call of Cthulhu. Now, they’re delving into the works of Austen and the history of the regency for their next supplement:

I like that Chaosium continues to produce books to explore different settings and time periods. I like the new Reputation feature. It will help to embed the game firmly in the setting of Regency-era high society. Most of all, I just like this this is something different.

Gamelyn Games releases Tiny Epic Vikings – The Tiny Epic series of games is well-established and expansive. Now, the latest game in the series, Tiny Epic Vikings, has arrived, following a very successful Kickstarter campaign.

A drafting game with area control elements and a small form factor, this game is pretty cool. The components are, as we’ve come to expect from Gamelyn, really nice. I like that this series changes and evolves, presenting new games rather than just reskinning the same game over and over.

Action Fiction launches Kickstarter campaign for Cthulhu Dreamt – There are a lot of Cthulhu Games out there, so when putting out your own title, it’s important to have something to set it apart from the crowd. In the case of Cthulhu Dreamt, it’s the idea of a multi-sensory, media-enriched experience.

I took a closer look at the campaign in this week’s Kickstarter-Watch post.
Cubicle 7 releases Lustria book for WFRP on DTRPG – Cubicle 7 continues the rolling out of more books for this latest, fantastic edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. This time, we’re taking a trip to the deep, forested lands of Lustria:

This book features a ton of Lustria-focused content, including the history of the continent and material on the major factions. These include the Lizardmen, the Norse, the High and Dark Elves, Piratical Vampires, and the Skaven of Clan Pestilens. Add to this, lots of cool, new player options and you’ve got a stew goin’!.

Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
Into the Weird: How do Investigations Actually Happen in Call of Cthulhu? @ Eldritch Enchantress – An interesting writeup on investigations in Call of Cthulhu. it’s a good overview, but the single most important point made was that failure in Call of Cthulhu is just going to happen sometimes. Wisdom, that.
Haemonculus Coven: Cronos and Haemonculus @ Swords After Dark – Great conversions! I actually think that the Sylvaneth models come with loads of really great parts for conversions, so I was excited to see someone using them for something different.
We Painted Some Colourful Cultists and Junkie Jakhals @ Handful of Dice – Amazing. These are really, really cool. I especially love the first two models. Fantastic!
Painted Magus @ The Bovine Overlord – I’ve been thinking about building some Genestealer Cults in anticipation of the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. I’ve already picked up some stuff for the army, and it’s time to get into it properly. As such, I’ve been looking at what folk have been doing with their GSC forces. I like this scheme. It’s very retro; perhaps too retro for what I want to do, but I do like it a lot!
Sharing some of my Warhammer paintings. @ Simon Says Read This Journal – A cool assortment of minis that the author has painted. My favourites are his Ironjawz and ol’ Rowboaty, himself. Thanks for sharing!

Since my last 5 on Friday, here’s what’s appeared on NoRerolls:
- My completed Gloomspite Stabbas.
- A bundle of sci-fi eBooks.
- a sci-fi maps bundle.
- My completed Nightbringer miniature.
- A look at a Cthulhu-themed RPG Kickstarter.
- A Throwback Thursday on background stories in RPGs.
And that’s us for now. I’m traveling over the next week, so I’m not sure about what sorts of posts I’ll be doing. There definitely won’t be a 5 on Friday.
Catch y’all soon!

Cheers for the shout out. You are always very kind.
