It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Modiphius releases 3D-printable files for the original Star Trek bridge crew – Modiphius continues to release these nice STL packs for their Star Trek Adventures RPG. Their latest offering features some very familiar faces in the form of the original bridge crew of the USS Enterprise:

The models look good! The set includes the following miniatures.
- Captain James T. Kirk
- Commander Spock
- Dr. Leonard H. McCoy
- Lieutenant Nyota Uhura
- Lieutenant Hiraku Sulu
- Ensign Pavel Chekov
- Lieutenant Commander Montgomery Scott
- Nurse Christine Chapel
It’s not a cheap set, but the price isn’t too bad, all in all.

New Youtube channel, RoleplayRhythms, provides atmospheric music for your games – Because I play mostly in a shared space, I don’t use much music in my roleplaying games. It always feels a bit inconsiderate of the other folk using the space. If I were playing more at home, I’d want to use music to help set a scene and establish a tone. RoleplayRhythms is a Youtube channel intent on helping you to do just that:
There’s not a huge amount of content yet, but they’re starting to build it up. If the quality displayed this far can be maintained, this seems pretty promising.
Cubicle 7 releases the Alien Archive for Doctors and Daleks – So, I never knew Doctors and Daleks was a thing. In much the same way that Cubicle 7 put out two versions of their Lord of the Rings RPG (one original system and one based on D&D 5E), they’ve done two versions of their Doctor Who game. Doctor’s and Daleks is the 5E-based one. Now, they’ve put out a new supplement:

It’s a bestiary! I like a good bestiary. Claiming to contain over 60 monsters and aliens “from Axos to Zygons”, there’s a lot of content in here. Personally, I would be turning right to page 111 for the Judoon. They’re m’faves!

1/2 Dollar Quest released on DMs Guild – This title popped up on my most recent wee look at the DMs Guild website. Worth a punt, thought I!

With an adventure outline, a random encounter table, a magic item, and a monster statblock, I reckon this is worth the price of admission. On price, I have a thought; I get that the point of a $0.50 adventure is to offer a low-cost product, but I don’t know that I’d put the word ‘cheap’ on the cover of something I put out. Just some connotations there, y’know?

3D-Printable Basing Bits (2) on Kickstarter – This is a cool bundle of STLs. Rather than miniatures in themselves, these are intended as bits and bobs to use for basing. Here’s a sampling of what you’ll get:

I look at the project and weigh up the value in this week’s Kickstarter-Watch post.
Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
D&D Monster Manual 83: The Legend of Drizzt Adventure Boardgame – Complete! @ Azazel’s Bitz Box – Feeling like I have enough to get on with for armies, skirmish games, and the like, I don’t see myself having the time or motivation to paint up a board game. Always glad to see others doing it, though. This set looks fantastic!
HeroHammer Challenge: Battle of the Blogs @ Plastic Craic – We’ve got a wee challenge going on. I’ll write something about it later, but you can check out this article for now, which gives a good rundown.
The Army Painter: Speedpaints Review @ Sprues & Brews – Another good review from the fine folks at S&B! I’m still humming and hawing over the Speedpaints. I think it’s the dishonesty in how the initial release was marketed that’s put me off. Reviews like this make me edge towards giving them a tentative chance.
Games and My Mental Health @ Dude! Take Your Turn! – I’m not going to really comment much on this post. It’s personal and honest and it speaks for itself. I can relate to it though, and that’s why I wanted to share it today.
Battle of the Blogs – Farewell to Gally Vets @ Woehammer – As above with the Plastic Craic article, I am looking forward to seeing how this event shakes out! Details of my own entry will be published here in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Since my last 5 on Friday, here’s what’s appeared on NoRerolls:
- Some thoughts on playing a game of Fiasco based on the coronation and the play, Charles III
- More Fiasco thoughts; this time on The Death of Stalin
- Some completed endless spells
- A Kickstarter-Watch post on 3D-printable basing bits
- A pair of completed Cockatrices.
- A Throwback Thursday about why we buy miniatures.
I’m hoping to push on with some Tzeentch minis this week. I’ll also be looking at an RPG bundle and writing about a challenge I’m doing with some other bloggers.
Catch y’all soon!

Thanks for sharing my post. In some ways, I almost feel like it’s universal, especially in this age where people are more aware of mental health issues (even if they sometimes deny their own).
