RPG Resources: Frunk’s Paranoia Form Template

Perusing our perennially prized post, ‘Paranoia Paperwork‘, prominently presents a plethora of peculiar pieces of paperwork, perfectly primed for perceptive players partaking in the playful Paranoia roleplaying parade.

Try saying that 5 times, fast…

Paranoia is a great little package that merges fantastic humour, a sci-fi setting, and elements of Orwellian or Kafka-esque nightmare into what is, surprisingly, a very fun game.

Having previously shared a bunch of old Paranoia forms that I like to use in my games, I was recently contacted by a kindly gentleman who had put together a fun, new toy for Paranoia GMs to incorporate into their own games.

Using pre-set forms is definitely useful, but sometimes you want something specific to your game, setting, situation, or mood. That is why this chap, going by the moniker, Frunk, put together his own template for making one’s own Paranoia-inspired forms.

Proving that flattery gets you everywhere, he also had some kind words to say about both Paranoia, and this site:

“I think I have every edition of Paranoia (Inc. 1st ed boxset) and this year was the only time I ever ran it. […] The new Paranoia deserves attention and it is great you are one of the few sites supporting it. Keep up the great work.”

Let’s talk about the form then, eh?

To demonstrate the template and give an exemplar wherein each element of the form is used, Frunk created this Jacuzzi/Termination Booth Request Form:

This looks pretty spot on to the style of the Mongoose boxed set edition. It’s a very clean design. You are going to need to grab a new font for this, though. Well, you may already have it, but I didn’t. This is Dealerplate:

This font is, thankfully, free to use. You can download it over at Dafont.com. This is a nice, clean font that I find quite pleasing to the eye. I could see myself using this elsewhere, so it was nice to have it flagged up to me.

The file is a Word Document. It’s a nice, flexible form that you can quite easily adapt to your own purposes. I’m quite excited to give it a good go and try to create a few of my own forms in the near future. I’ll make sure to share them when I do.

Frunk didn’t give me a link to share when crediting him, but if he does end up setting something up, I’ll be happy to come back and edit a link into this post. He’s done an absolute service to the community around Paranoia and it’s always great to see someone’s passion for a game come across via creative works.

Now, let’s share the actual form:

You can click here to download the template as a Word Document.

I’d be really delighted to feature any cool forms that you come up with and archive them here in a new post. If you do end up using this template, please share your work! I’m sure that others will find them useful and interesting. You can find my contact details on the About page.
