Throwback Thursday: Establishing a Legacy

I thought when revisiting this post that it would be entirely about Pandemic Legacy, but there’s actually a lot of different games in here. Pandemic Legacy does feature, though. Pandemic Legacy, ultimately, was a disappointing experience for me. I was so delighted to get started and I enjoyed our first few sessions. I went in a bit unsure about the whole thing, but a narrative quickly emerged from our play and that was very satisfying. However, this was not to last. The group fell apart after a while as two folk moved away. This left me with a useless, half-finished game that I’ve not revisited. Disappointing.

I also spent some time talking about a couple of my D&D groups. These included both my beloved Lybster group and a really fantastic Strahd campaign that, like Pandemic Legacy, ultimately fizzled out. That, again, was disappointing. I loved that campaign and it was sad that we never quite finished it.

I also looked at some board games I’d been playing. Hive is an absolute classic that is easy to underestimate. I really love the game and I think I’m reasonably good at it, too. The other board game is Scythe, which is a perennial favourite. I’m not as good at that one!
