It took me a while to get on board with the 5th edition of Vampire: the Masquerade. I love Vampire and I don’t really like change, so that was always going to be a thing. It wasn’t helped by the fact that the newest incarnation of White Wolf seemed really focused on the LARPing community around Vampire, with always felt a bit cringey to me, and a bit fetishy. The replacement of the old-style VTM artwork with fetishy photos further cemented that impression.
Once you get past that, it’s a good game. It’s an excellent game, actually. It’s just a bit different, and that’s okay. It is. It is.
I’ve had a lot of fun with this edition, even if the companies around it continue to mishandle it in various different ways. You can read the original post via the link below:
