It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games, books, and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Games Workshop releases Skaventide, the launch box for Age of Sigmar’s fourth edition – We’re sticking with this for another week; it’s such a big release! This is the launch box for the latest edition of the bestest miniatures game currently published by Games Workshop:

There are a ton of awesome books and miniatures in here. They’re going to really hurt my ability to maintain a good ratio of purchases/prints to painted minis. I’m so excited to get my hands on this. I’ll paint the Skaven, though not immediately, but it’s books I’m most excited for.

Possum Creek Games releases Yazeba’s Bed & Breakfast – This looks interesting, and certainly quite unique. The thing is, reading and re-reading the description, I can’t say I understand fully what exactly it actually is…

It looks unique, interesting, and driven by character and narrative. These are all huge plus points to me, and I’m very curious as to how this actually plays!

Loke Battle Mats releases their Deck of Many Insults – Oh, this looks fun! It’s a wee deck of insults for use in your various fantasy roleplaying games:

What fun! I know that some people can find it tricky to come up with a witty insult off the cuff for spells like Vicious Mockery, so it’s a great tool for them. For the rest of us, it just adds a run, random element.

Monkeyfun Studios releases a new Greatest Hits compilation for Spirit of 77 – I don’t think I’d heard of Spirit of 77 until this week. Now we’ve got this in today’s post, and a look at a bundle tomorrow. For today, let’s focus in on this third volume of greatest hit adventures:

Spirit of 77 is a Powered by Apocalypse RPG designed by David Kizzia and Bob Richardson. Emulating the characters and stories of cult 1970s film and TV, it also gives a generous nod to the Exploitation Film genre. The setting is a mix of the ’70s with a twist: think UFOs, secret tech, and Nixon selling out the Watergate Plumbers to cling to his office. Ford even wins the ’76 election! This supplement gives 6 adventures for you to play through with your group.

Atomic Mass releases Thor set for Marvel Crisis Protocol – Atomic Mass continues to pump out fantastic miniatures for Crisis Protocol and Shatterpoint. This time, we’re looking as some gorgeous Thor-themed miniatures for Crisis Protocol:

The set includes male and female Thors, alongside Lady Sif and Loki. All are really fantastic, and clearly draw their aesthetic more from the comic books than the movies, which is definitely not a bad thing. Cool, thematic set!

Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
Roswell ’98: Chevy Malibu @ Wyrd Stones and Tackle Zones – I’ve loved watching all of this blog’s Roswell ’98 posts. This latest one is fun, and the glowing car is a fantastic and thematic addition to the set. Good stuff!
Friday Night Shots – Should You Learn a Game Before Trying to Teach It? @ Dude! Take Your Turn! – Yes! The answer is firmly YES! Twice recently I have been at tables where a game was being learned as we went through it. The first was pretty grueling at the start and led to frustration that could have been avoided. The second was not as bad, but again there was unnecessary frustration and long pauses to check basic rules.
Dread TTRPG: My Memories of Terror @ Chaotican Writer – I like Dread a lot. This is known. This blog post is actually a really good writeup on a unique, interesting, and fun system that is geared for running immersive and atmospheric horror roleplaying games.
Skaventide: Clan Skryre & Bosses @ A Tabletop Gamer’s Diary – This guy gets through a lot of minis! And they tend to look great, too. I’m really looking forward to getting my own Skaventide box, though I won’t do them as well as this.
Massive Flex: Sons of Behemat AOS4 Faction Review @Plastic Craic – This is a great rundown of the Gargants. My stompy boys <3. I’m taking a bit of a break from them, as I’ve been maining them for pretty much all of this year, but at least I know I’m in for a treat when I do get them to the table.

There have been a few posts since my last 5 on Friday:
- A review of the quote collection, Damn You, Entropy!
- A completed wizard
- A completed battle standard bearer
- Humble Bundle’s Runequest bundle
- A completed Chaos Dwarf rocket launcher
- Reappraising some old website recommendations
Finishing off the slow grow stuff leaves me with 6 models completed this week! That feels good, and keeps me moving forward towards the miniature per day target for the year.
No purchases. The release of Skaventide tomorrow is a worry on that front, though…
Print-wise, I printed two miniatures. One of for my Necrons and the other is for the Flesh-Eater Courts.
Painting, purchasing, and printing totals so far this year:
- Purchased: 37 minis
- Printed: 115 minis
- Painted: 245 minis
