It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games, books, and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Games Workshop releases a new edition of Necromunda – A new edition of Necromunda? Nice! I’m keen to see what they end up doing with it.

The set looks fine, but I do think that a bit more terrain would have been helpful. The game itself promises to be a refinement of what’s come before, rather than some massively revolutionary changes. I know that Necromunda players were anxious that the game might have been oversimplified or dumbed-down, so it’s great that they don’t need to worry on that front.

Archon Studio is taking preorders for their new Starcraft miniatures game – The Founders Edition two player starter set drops you straight into the Terran-Zerg war with premium components, exclusive early extras, and everything you need to hit the table fast. It’s a sleek, limited‑run launch box that showcases Archon’s sculpting and gives players a head start in the fight for the Koprulu sector.

Built as the definitive on‑ramp for the new StarCraft minis game, this set pairs two fully playable forces with terrain, rules, and founder‑only bonuses; a collector‑grade starter that doubles as a competitive core for anyone ready to command, swarm, or bunker down from day one.

Onyx Path releases Alchemicals supplement for Exalted – I’ve owned exalted, in various editions, since it first came out in 2001, and I grabbed the monstrously huge third edition book on release in 2016. I’ve yet to play it. Here’s another really cool supplement that I’ll never play:

I’ve always been a fan of the idea of galactic machinery. You know, stuff like the titan in WoW, or the angels in Demon: The Descent, or how God is presented in The God-Machine Chronicle. Bringing that vibe firmly into Exalted is a definite plus for me.

Leder Games taking preorders on a new Root expansion, The Homeland – Root is a perennial favourite for me. There are a few expansions for the game, and they’re pretty fun. Here’s another one:

With three factions and two maps, there’s a lot in here! The factions seem fun; I think the Twilight Council is, conceptually, my favourite. I’d love to try all three, though!

Kobold Press updates their Fey campaign book for Daggerheart – I have the 5E version of this, Courts of the Shadow Fey, and it’s a good book. It’s bursting with content, though a tad underwhelming when it comes to art. The pieces in there are nice enough, but there’s just not much of it. Now, Kobold have repurposed the book for Daggerheart:

This does seem to be a very cut down version of the book, though. 35 pages? This looks pretty minimal. It’s also a bit expensive for what it is. £7.41 for 35 pages is steep. Oh well, I still have my bigger book!

Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
Top Three AoS Lists for the Siege of York IV @ Woehammer – Honestly, I clicked for the Ogor list. I’d like to get my Ogors usable again at some point, and I could field most of this. I’d need to build one more big dude, and a bunch of Gnoblars.
Boromir from Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game @ Convert or Die – Beautiful! This is a fantastic paint job, and it’s cool to read the accompanying guide to replicate that fantastic work.
What’s The Best Ogor Infantry? A Comparison @ Plastic Craic – I like it when Plastic Craic does this sort of post. I don’t have the patience or motivation to break down the numbers for myself, so I’m happy to read their finding instead. I also really like Ogors and would like to get mine back up and running at some point.
Boldly Going Outside of Modiphius’ Range @ Refereeing and Reflection – Oh, this is fun. In celebrating a decade of Modiphius’ Star Trek Adventures, the author takes a look at some great content from earlier Star Trek-themed RPGs. There’s some absolute gold in here!
The flesh is weak! @ Spalanz – I love the Ad Mech. They’re such a strange and often goofy faction that has a cool aesthetic and a bit of bite. How they play in the game, I have no idea. I should finish some of mine at some point, too…

Catch you next Friday!

Having run some Alchemical games set entirely in Autochtonia, I can report that it’s actually surprisingly easy. Everyone’s caught in a life-long pressure cooker of work quotas and shifting doctrines and industrial disasters, something is always being frantically constructed or in the process of disastrously breaking down, and anyone can be a spy, a gremlin, a subversive, or an Adamantium-caste infiltrator. All to a backdrop of rumbling machines, seas of oil, billowing smoke stacks and crackling electricity.
